Ashdown NM2 Nate Mendel Double Drive Bass Pedal, Bass Overdrive Pedal with Stereo Outputs, Two Separate Distortion Circuits, VU Meter, and Stereo/Mono Modes.

Versatile Overdrive Pedal for Your Bass Rig

Foo Fighters bassist Nate Mendel worked with Ashdown to create the NM2 Nate Mendel Double Drive Pedal. It's a single unit that can dole out the various shades of drive he requires. The NM2 splits your signal internally, combining with two separately voiced drive sections. This means you can send two different tones to different amps in stereo mode, switch between the sounds in mono mode, or even blend the two on your NM2 for a huge wall of driven bass.

NM2 Nate Mendel Double Drive Bass Overdrive Pedal at a Glance:

  • Two distinct distortion circuits
  • Stereo and mono modes
  • Trustworthy build quality

Two distinct distortion circuits

The Foo Fighters' catalog ranges from subdued to cranked-up rock 'n' roll. Nate Mendel was having trouble finding a drive device to give him the sounds he was looking for in all of those situations. So he and Ashdown designed the NM2 with two very different distortion circuits. You can switch between them, or run them together to cover any situation. Whether you're looking to simply add a little more harmonic content to your tone or bulldoze the whole stage with a mammoth-sized drive tone, it's all in the Ashdown NM2 Nate Mendel Double Drive.

Stereo and mono modes

For Industrie Music bassists blessed enough to run a stereo rig, the NM2 is a dream come true. You can send separately effected signals out of the stereo outputs of the NM2, feeding a cleaner drive sound to one amp, and a fuzzy kick in the teeth to the other. That dual-voice approach is great at retaining clarity at high-gain settings. But if you don't choose to run such a large rig, you can still switch and blend the two signals in mono mode, which is perfect for bassists using a single bass amplifier.

Trustworthy build quality

Ashdown's build quality is legendary. Its metal casing, premium controls and switches, recessed knobs, and kickguard-protected VU meter protection ensure your NM2 Double Drive will keep dishing it out gig after gig. The NM2 Nate Mendel Double Drive pedal is no different. The Ashdown roster of artists includes bass luminaries such as Nate Mendel, Pino Palladino (session ace), James LoMenzo (White Lion, Megadeth, Black Label Society), and Adam Clayton (U2). If players at this level rely on Ashdown, we know you can too!
