Evans Genera HD Dry Snare heads feature two plies of film. An outer ply of 5mil film and an inner ply of 7.5mil film, in combination with a 2mil overtone control ring on the underside that "floats" with the head, eliminating excessive overtones and controlling sustain. Precision-drilled dry vents around the perimeter of head reduce overtones and control sustain. Evans Level 360 technology is incorporated to extend the level playing surface of the drumhead, 360 degrees around the drum. The vertically enhanced collar design guarantees even contact with the critical bearing edge of the drum shell, resulting in: ease of tuning, extended pitch range and optimum quality of sound. Evans Level 360 technology resolves the age-old dilemma of traditional synthetic heads consistently not fitting the drum shell without using considerable force.

Evans Genera Heavy Duty Dry Snare Head 14 inch

The Evans Genera Heavy Duty Dry Snare Heads work an absolute treat on my Ludwig Supraphonic Snare Drum (circa 1970 ish; blue/olive badge). I've been using these heads now for many years and I still remember the massive difference when I first tried one. So much better sound with a lot more 'crack' in the top end and plenty of 'biff' in the lower end, and almost no ring or overtone (just enough to make it sound like a 'real one' - and that's with NO dampening). They also have incredible durability; they last for ages! Needless to say I've been using them on my snare ever since. Sound engineers love it! Sound check goes something like "Snare!" whack whack whack "That'll do Donkey!" I use this same snare with both my Ludwig 'Hollywood' Champagne Sparkle kit (circa 1970) AND my Sonor 'Sonorphonic' kit (circa 1980). With the Evans Genera Heavy Duty Dry Snare Head on board, it brings both kits to life!
